After „Oriental Garden Vol. 1 and Vol. 2“, Soulstar Records offers with ASIAN GARDEN a wonderful compilation of Asia`s living music scene.
The double-sampler at hand presents with total 38 tracks, a true cross section of the current Asian music work worth listening to. Besides India (Sapna / Nitin Sawhney) there are tracks from Usbekistan (Karen Gafurdjanov), Tadjikistan (Zulya), Japan (Kodo / Miyazawa), Vietnam (Huong Thanh), Iran (Afshin / Spiritual Brothers), Armenia (Armenian Navy Band), Malaysia (Siti Nurhaliza & Noraniza Idris), Republik Tuva (Sainkho Namtchylak / Huun-Huur Tu) and Turkey (Ragga Oktay / Oriental Expressions) and many more.
In addition, in ASIAN GARDEN you will also find different European artists who worked through the Asian soundcosmos competently and sensitively. That is why the journey also leads us to England (Transglobal Underground / J 12 / Oojami), France (The Night Session), Germany (Eastenders / Mardi Grass BB) and Irland/UK (Asian Dub Foundation feat. Sinead O’Connor).
On the first CD “CAFÉ AWARA“, flowing harmonies indulge your auditory canal (Awara: roaming, vagrant , vagabond, idle). The driving beats on the second CD „CLUB DEEWANE“ are of the majority composed for the dancing feet. (Deewane: 1- kind of crazy, insane, delirious, 2 - to become infatuated with or love somebody immoderate).
In short: the double-sampler consisting of these two cds, fuses rudiments to a unique, wonderful soundhappening. At many points, even incompatible elements harmonize with each other; that is why purists, crossover-lovers and friends of pop-compatible sounds will totally be pleased altogether.
